Based at Queen's University's Belfast Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT http://www.ecit.qub.ac.uk/), the £30 million world-class Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT http://www.csit.qub.ac.uk/) will couple major research breakthroughs with a wide portfolio of leading UK based companies in an exciting innovation and commercialisation environment. Applications are now sought for the following research position within the Network Security Processing group of CSIT.
Research Assistant/Research Fellow (Network Security Processing) Ref: 12/102062 School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, CSIT
The post is available for 18 months or until December 2013 to conduct research into hardware accelerated network security processing. The postholder will be required to investigate custom-purpose parallel processing architectures for real-time network processing functions such as packet classification, protocol parsing and content processing and implement them in NPU and FPGA based platforms.
Anticipated interview date: Tuesday 26 June 2012. Salary scale: Research Assistant: £25,251 - £31,948 per annum (including contribution points). Research Fellow: £30,122 - £39,257 per annum (including contribution points). Closing date: Monday 11 June 2012.
