SafeNet and NetApp have teamed up to offer a new approach to storage security solutions.
The two companies said that the collaboration will provide customers with the ability to manage and protect their on-premise, cloud-based and virtualised data storage in a secure manner.
The offering will see SafeNet's information lifecycle protection solutions expanded to include security for storage and data management solutions, supporting existing data centre storage modes with the flexibility to stretch protection to emerging Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), public, private and hybrid cloud delivery models.
Tsion Gonen, corporate vice president of products at SafeNet, said: “SafeNet and NetApp are working together to make data protection solutions available inside the network extendable beyond the network as customers adopt cloud-computing solutions.
“Working with NetApp enables us to offer data protection within the storage market. The end result is a robust security solution for customers that need persistent protection of and secure access to their data today and as they move to the cloud.”
Tim Russell, vice president and general manager of storage security at NetApp, said: “Our customers are excited about new storage technologies to deal with the explosive growth in data storage, but are concerned about maintaining ownership and control of their data. By working with SafeNet, NetApp will help our customers protect their sensitive data throughout its lifecycle as they modernise their infrastructure.”
