Sessions on social media, cloud computing and application security will be featured at the inaugural Security B-Sides London show next month.

Following the event selling out of all of its 200 tickets within eight days, 22 presenters and 19 talks have now been confirmed.

It was designed to create a forum for industry professionals to tackle current industry issues and to set the agenda for the future in collaboration with the information security community. It began in the USA with one event in 2009 and has now expanded into over 20 cities globally.

Security B-Sides London will be held on 20th April at The Skills Matter eXchange in Clerkenwell, London. There will be a joint after party with DEF CON at its DC4420 event in Cavendish Square.

Matthew Summers, Security B-Sides London co-founder and consultant at Symantec, said: “In total we received over 50 speaker submissions in response to our call for, all of which were of a very high calibre. To ensure the sessions were interactive the London team created an online web application to enable participants to vote on a selection of the talks they wanted to hear.”

Dr Paul Q. Judge, chief research officer at Barracuda Networks, who will present a keynote session on the compatibility of social media and security, said: “Security B-Sides has quickly gained a reputation as being a meaningful conference and is respected as it gives security professionals an open platform to discuss important issues within the information security industry.”
