Christopher Histed has been appointed as master of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT). The 12 month-long tenure coincides with a year where WCIT will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of it becoming the 100th Livery Company of the City of London.
Histed, this year's master and former journalist, joined WCIT in 2002. He chaired its Education & Training Committee from 2006 to 2013 and the led team, which developed the company's new forward-looking strategy and strategic objectives.
“The charities, schools and not-for-profit organisations that we help and support tell us that our Livery Company and grant-making Charity will have an increasingly important part to play over the next quarter of a century as technology takes on a more pivotal role in society,” Histed said.
